The Importance Of Keyword Density And Your Blog

blog

Your Blog Here

This blog post is being (or has been if you are reading at a later time) created during the first night of our three night launch extravaganza ;) … for Paragon Marketing Solutions. As I type this post I’m sharing with a group of marketing friends how to utilize the Google AdWords Keyword Tool for the purposes of selecting the right keywords for a blog post.

While searching for keywords in the area of seo and search engine optimization we discovered a trending keyword based on the word blog. When I typed the word blog into the keyword research tool I found that it was a high traffic keyword with very little competition.

So what does all of that have to do with keyword density? You’ll notice that in the first two paragraphs of this blog post I used the word blog four times. I just used the word blog an additional three times. By using the word blog in this way it shows the webcrawlers which word I wish to index for on the search engines. The number of times that I use my primary keyword is what makes up my keyword density.

The down side of using my primary keyword too many times is that it could have a negative impact on my listing in the search engines, especially Google as they change algorithms more than most people change the oil in their car.

Therefore it’s a balance of the use of your primary keyword that will optimize it for listing on the front pages of Google for the word you wish to generate traffic with.

A great tool for measuring keyword density is a WordPress plug in known as SEO Pressor. We have been using SEO Pressor for quite some time now and I would not own a WordPress blog that did not have it. Using SEO Pressor has had HUGE impact on how we generate traffic from the front pages of Google. Combining a properly optimized blog post with the right link building strategy equals blogging success!
